Wizards Defeat Lions in Doubleheader Opener Behind Balanced Scoring Effort 139-126

The Columbus Wizards opened a doubleheader set with a 139–126 victory over the Memphis Lions, as Memphis stepped in as a replacement opponent for the scheduled St. Louis Griffins.
In a matchup that featured several Columbus connections on the opposing roster, the Wizards delivered an efficient and balanced offensive performance to secure the win.
Columbus shot 57.4 percent (54-of-94) from the field and recorded 23 assists, showcasing strong ball movement and offensive execution throughout the game. The Wizards also controlled the glass with a 55–43 rebounding advantage, generating second-chance opportunities that helped maintain control.
Jay Farrow led all scorers with 32 points on an exceptional 12-of-15 shooting performance, including a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range, setting the tone offensively.
Josiah Fulcher added 31 points on 13-of-19 shooting, attacking efficiently and providing consistent scoring throughout the contest.
Jaiveon Eaves contributed 21 points and 6 assists, while Jalen Robinson recorded 16 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring the paint and delivering a double-double performance.
Additional contributions came from Khiry Shelton, who added 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Michael Davenport, who contributed 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Off the bench, Malik London provided efficient minutes with 8 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting performance, while Mat Bingaya added 7 points and 4 rebounds.
Memphis responded with a balanced scoring effort of its own, shooting 51.5 percent (53-of-103) from the field.
The Lions were led by Jalen Hearn, a Columbus native, who finished with 26 points and 5 assists, while Martez Briggs added 23 points, including four three-pointers.
KJ Council, also from Columbus, contributed 19 points, and Xavier Evans added 15 points and 5 assists, providing additional offensive support.
Marquis Mathis, another Columbus connection, added 10 points, giving the Lions multiple contributors throughout the lineup.
Despite Memphis forcing 24 turnovers, Columbus’ efficiency and shot-making ability ultimately proved to be the difference, allowing the Wizards to maintain control throughout the game.
With the win, the Columbus Wizards improve to 4–3 on the season, continuing to build momentum as they move through a busy stretch of games.
The victory also sets the tone for the remainder of the doubleheader, as Columbus looks to carry that momentum into the second matchup.
