WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The Columbus Wizards turned a game fueled by memory into one defined by control.
Just weeks after a road loss in Toledo, Columbus responded Thursday night with one of its most complete performances of the season, defeating Glass City 121–107 inside The Rike Center at Otterbein University. The Wizards improved to 9–8 on the season, while showing signs of a team beginning to find rhythm at the right time.
From the outset, Columbus dictated the tempo. The Wizards established themselves physically, controlling the glass and consistently generating second-chance opportunities. That effort translated into a steady offensive flow, allowing them to build separation as the game progressed.
At their peak, the Wizards led by as many as 25 points and carried a commanding 21-point advantage into the fourth quarter. Their ability to maintain composure and execute offensively prevented any sustained push, even as Glass City attempted to close the gap late.
Michael Davenport led Columbus with 27 points and 10 rebounds, providing a consistent presence on both ends of the floor. Josiah Fulcher added 26 points and eight rebounds, continuing to serve as a catalyst in both scoring and playmaking situations. Jay Farrow delivered an efficient 24-point performance, shooting 66.7 percent from the field and capitalizing on key opportunities throughout the game.
Inside, Malik London anchored the Wizards’ frontcourt with 12 points and 14 rebounds, helping Columbus secure a 60–48 advantage on the boards. The Wizards shot an even 50 percent from the field as a team, pairing efficiency with physicality in a balanced offensive attack.
One of the game’s defining moments came in the fourth quarter, when Fulcher connected on an alley-oop finish off a feed from Jaiveon Eaves, rising over Chris Darrington for a powerful dunk. The play ignited the crowd and the Wizards’ bench, serving as a punctuation mark on a performance that had already been firmly in Columbus’ control.
Glass City was led by Chris Darrington, who finished with 30 points, but Columbus’ control of the glass and efficiency on offense proved to be the difference throughout the night.
Despite a late push, the Wizards maintained their poise and closed out the game without allowing the lead to slip into danger.
With the win, Columbus moves to 9-6 and continues to build momentum as the regular season progresses. The Wizards will look to carry that momentum into their next matchup Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. at The Rike Center, where they are set to face the Kokomo Bobkats.
