The Columbus Wizards returned to the floor looking to build momentum, but found themselves in a fast-paced, high-scoring battle against the Lake County Legacy.
From the opening tip, the tempo was relentless.
Both teams came out aggressive, pushing the pace and attacking early in the shot clock. Offense came easy on both ends, with each possession turning into a response. The game quickly turned into a shootout, with neither side able to create much separation early.
Lake County ultimately came away with the 136–120 victory, but the game itself was defined by offensive execution and individual performances across the board.
Columbus shot an impressive 52.3% from the field, finishing with 120 points, while also controlling the glass with 53 total rebounds. The ball movement was strong as well, with 23 assists showing a team playing together offensively.
Leading the way was Jaiveon Eaves, who delivered a standout performance with 28 points, knocking down 6 three-pointers on 60% shooting from deep while also adding 7 rebounds and creating opportunities throughout the game.
Jay Farrow matched that output with 28 points and 14 rebounds, putting together a dominant double-double performance. His ability to score efficiently while controlling the boards kept the Wizards within striking distance throughout the night.
Michael Davenport provided a major lift with 20 points on 69% shooting, along with 10 rebounds, showcasing his efficiency and impact on both ends of the floor.
Josiah Fulcher added 12 points on an efficient 6-of-9 shooting night, while Sarion McGee contributed 11 points, consistently getting to the free throw line and keeping pressure on the defense.
Additional contributions came from RJ Fairrow, who added 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Khiry Shelton, who chipped in 7 points and provided solid minutes in the rotation.
Despite the strong offensive showing, Lake County answered with firepower of their own.
They were led by C. Newsome, who finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, controlling the game offensively.
K. Anthony-Bello added 29 points, knocking down 5 three-pointers, while T. Parmelee matched that with 29 points of his own, also connecting from deep.
M. Lesch delivered one of the most efficient performances of the night, scoring 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
As a team, Lake County knocked down 18 three-pointers at a 41.9% clip and converted 26 free throws, capitalizing on opportunities that ultimately created the separation.
While the result didn’t go their way, the Wizards showed offensive firepower, resilience, and the ability to compete in high-level scoring games. The efficiency, rebounding, and balanced contributions continue to point toward a team finding its rhythm as the season progresses.
Games like this test discipline, execution, and defensive consistency.
And while there are lessons to take from this one, there’s also a clear takeaway:
The Columbus Wizards can score with anyone.
Now it’s about tightening the details and turning performances like this into wins.
