The Columbus Wizards were founded in 2023 with a bold vision to bring a true professional basketball experience to Columbus, built on community, culture, and belief.

From day one, our mission has gone far beyond the scoreboard. The Wizards were created to be a symbol of hope, toughness, and unity, a team that represents what it means to chase something bigger than yourself. What began as a dream has grown into a professional organization defined by discipline, accountability, and heart.

Led by an ownership group deeply rooted in the Central Ohio community, the Wizards are driven by a commitment to service, professionalism, and purpose. Our leadership is dedicated to building a platform that empowers athletes, uplifts neighborhoods, and inspires the next generation  on and off the court.

After two seasons competing in the American Basketball Association (ABA), the Wizards proved that Columbus is ready for something greater. Now, as we prepare for our official debut in The Basketball League (TBL) in 2026, we’re raising the standard for what professional basketball can look like in Central Ohio blending world-class competition with community impact and opportunity.

 

Our foundation is built on six core values: community involvement, hard work, professionalism, toughness, accountability, and respect. These aren’t just words they’re the culture we live by. Every player, coach, and staff member who wears “Wizards” across their chest understands that representing Columbus is both a privilege and a responsibility.

But we’re more than a basketball team. We’re a movement rooted in purpose and people. Through partnerships with organizations like Special Olympics Ohio, Huckleberry House, A Step in the Right Direction, and the Boys & Girls Club, we’re using our platform to invest in lives, strengthen communities, and lead with impact.

The Columbus Wizards are built on belief belief in one another, belief in our city, and belief that what we’re building here is bigger than basketball.
